The Fernandina Beach Arts Market and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open on May 14, 2016. The arts market is shaping up to be one of our biggest markets to date with over 25 vendors at last count. Enjoy shopping directly from the artists such as BC Gemstones, who turn their stones on-site, paintings by Sarah Bash Gleason, and our newest vendor, Gourds Gone Wild. There will be stained glass, jewelry, pottery, photography, tie dye apparel and much more.
The farmers market will see Maria’s Bakery who has been perfecting their artisan breads and will have fresh baked sourdough, Italian ciabatta, jalapeno and cheese, rye, and pumpernickel. Kings Kountry Produce is bringing seasonal Patty Pan squash, purple cauliflower, romanesco, and pole and green beans; you’ll fine their early harvests of corn and homegrown tomatoes on their tables, too. Joy of Garlic has added two new flavors to their line-up: spicy mango salsa, and tangerine teriyaki hot sauce, which makes an excellent salad dressing. Also returning this week is Rose’s Authentic Vietnamese Egg Rolls, Savannah Oatmeal, and this is one of the last two markets until fall that you will have the opportunity to pick up some genuine Vermont syrup from Steephill designs. There is a new palm tree vendor joining the farmers market this week. Paul Bazzell, with A1 Landscape and Tree City, will be bringing a variety of seven gallon palm trees such as Sylvestris, Lady palm, Washintonia, and Roebellini; all palms have been grown from seed right here in Fernandina Beach.
Music this week will be by Jim Barcaro, and Community Hospice will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. The markets are located on North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina Beach, and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.
