Leaves, Lather, and Leather at Local Arts Market

leather-wallet-horseThe Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open in historic, downtown on August 9, 2014, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Support your neighbors and friends as they show off their talents in this market full of unique arts and crafts.

Meet Jewel, one of our new vendors who makes concrete waterfall and bird baths. Jewel’s Leaves uses a real split-leaf philodendron to produce the mold.

People’s Leather is owned by local artists Byron and Shirley Raper. Their high quality leather wallets, bags, key fobs and gifts are made to last and they stand behind all of their products. They also do leather repairs. With the holiday shopping season soon upon us, now is the time to start thinking about your special order gifts that may require personalization, too.

Jake and Sarah Harlow don’t miss a Saturday in downtown Fernandina and they bring their full line of spa, beauty and personal care, all natural products to the Arts Market on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Jake studied natural science at UNF and holds a BS in bio-chemistry which comes in handy when creating new products and understanding the effects of ingredients and if they could be hormone or endocrine disrupters. People who are interested in healthy living seek body products made with natural ingredients. Harlow’s two biggest summertime sellers are their deodorant and bug spray. Made from coconut oil, beeswax, baking soda, zinc oxide and essential oils, their deodorants come in four different scents and contains no aluminum or parabens. Harlow’s All Natural Bug Spray contains no harsh chemicals, just distilled water, lemongrass, cypress, cedar and eucalyptus essential oils. This particular scent was created by them to keep bugs and pests at bay.

Join these three and other interesting vendors at the Arts Market located adjacent to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market, on N. 7th Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets.
