One of Amelia Island’s newest events is the Fernandina Beach Arts Market. Open the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, you can find us between N. 7th and 8th Streets in historic, Fernandina Beach, next door to the downtown farmers market.
Local artists show off their crafts at this wonderful, outdoor Arts Market. Come see what your neighbors are creating with their talents in fine jewelry making, hand crafted furniture, stained glass, pillows, purses, tie dyed apparel and other custom designed fabrics. You will find pet treats, dishes and accessories, as well as home made soaps and candles, photography, framed art, note cards and so much more.
Unique vendors attending on March 22, 2014, include Riplaces, a shoelace alternative that permits you to say, “No to the bow.” Assorted elastic straps and ornamental stops hold your sneakers and other lace up shoes firmly in place. If you have an active lifestyle, or have trouble tying your shoes, this booth is a must see!
John Mateer is a local artist who specializes in glass fusion art. Using creative painting techniques and melting glass in a kiln under extreme temperatures lets him create individual works of art, recycled from used glass that are made into spoon rests, serving dishes, bowls, jewelry and more.
Another popular exhibitor is a wood crafter who designs lovely outdoor furniture pieces painted with decorative wildlife scenes or vivid colors. You will also find creative frames surrounded in seashells and other natural products. Every piece is a unique work of art that will start conversations in your home for years to come.
The Fernandina Beach Arts Market still has room for more vendors, so if you are interested in sharing your local talent and showing off your creations, please contact us at (904) 557-8229.
