About The Market Place Family of Markets

Thanks for visiting our website to learn more about the Market Place family of markets. Local chiropractors Joe and Elizabeth Lee are very proud of their four local markets. They first re-opened the historic, downtown market after it abruptly abandoned North Seventh Street, in favor of a new location at the Omni Resort property. Surprising the vendors, customers, and other downtown businesses, the following Saturday, September 8, 2012, the beloved community market was back! The new market was rebranded as the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market, and has continuously been under the management of Judie Mackie, who has been with the Lees since the beginning of this journey. The farmers’ market has a franchise agreement with the City of Fernandina Beach, leasing the space as a food and natural product market only. Among other guidelines set out by the city, there are no arts and crafts to be sold, and non-profit organizations are welcome to promote their mission, but no donations can be accepted. Open every Saturday of the year, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., North Seventh Street becomes a lively open-air market full of health eats and desirable treats. For the safety of our vendors and visitors, the street is closed to through traffic, from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The Fernandina Beach Arts Market opened next, in September of 2013. Originally, it was located adjacent to North Seventh Street, combining the markets into one centralized area downtown for friendship and fellowship on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month: with more market days during the holiday shopping season. The Arts Market recently located to 508 Centre Street, thanks to Jacksonville’s largest locally owned, full service commercial real estate firm.  Christian Harden and NAI Hallmark saw how important it was to our community’s small business entrepreneurs, and, without hesitation, they offered their property to us.  Our Market Place family of markets can’t thank them enough!!!

The third Market Place in the family is the Wildlight Market Place, open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 123 Tinker Street, in the new Wildlight Community near I-95 in the central part of Nassau County, Florida. The Wildlight Market Place opened in February 2021 and welcomes both farmers market booths, and arts and crafts that are handmade or hand crafted.
