Arts Market on Amelia Island Returns July 26th

Arts Market on Amelia Island Returns July 26thJuly 26, 2014 is the 4th Saturday of the month and that means the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open in the historic, downtown area of Amelia Island.

Dozens of local artists converge downtown to display the area’s newest art fair. You will find a wide range of works that are unique in both craft and value. Beautiful pottery, fine jewelry, visual art, garden art, wood furniture, lamps, soaps, pet accessories, photography, glass, apparel, and more can be found from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, just north of Centre Street, between N. 7th and N. 8th Streets in Fernandina.

Newer vendors include Dot Updegraff and her husband George, who have been crafting for over 15 years. Retirement left them in a position to follow their hearts, and as Crafting From Our Hearts these lovebirds enjoy traveling and meeting people at different art shows while they show off their wooden, hand cut items like yard signs, wall plaques and more. Hand painted messages are often patriotic, spiritual, or inspirational, but they are always as fun and colorful as the pair that design them!

Red Wolf Custom Crafts, a regular at the Arts Market, brings a truck and trailer loaded with custom built furniture from Blackshear, Georgia. Ben Smitt, III, designs wooden boxes, lawn chairs and occasional tables that are truly unique. Some of the most popular pieces include artistically painted redfish or perhaps a couple of shrimp that make every item a unique work of art, perfect as a conversation starter for the home or as a treasured gift.

Fernandina Beach is a community that truly supports a shop local economy, and interacting with the producer of your purchases is a bonus! You can find out more about the quality of a product, the creative process of the artist, sourcing of materials, or perhaps make a new friend. By having designers and artists from our area, all in one downtown location, you have a variety of one-of-a-kind specialty goods available in a single Saturday morning stop. Find us adjacent to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market, within walking distance of fabulous restaurants and the quaint shops of Amelia Island’s Victorian seaside village, Fernandina Beach.
